Tegra Medical Opens New 81,000 Sq. Ft. Facility in Franklin, MA
FRANKLIN, MA--Tegra Medical has completed the relocation of its Holliston, MA and Cranston, RI facilities into a newly built-out facility in Franklin, MA. Franklin will serve as corporate headquarters and manufacturing site for Tegra Medical. Franklin is situated on I-495, a major medical device corridor centrally located between Boston, Providence, and Worcester. Employee retention was a determining factor in choosing the new site, and its location between the two former facilities resulted in no turnover with the skilled workforce. The Franklin site nearly triples the available manufacturing space of the two former sites and was built out to Tegra’s specifications. The additional space allows for new and expanded capabilities. A class 100,000 controlled manufacturing environment is being installed, as well as a new state-of-the-art cleaning system. Other additions include new CNC milling and turning equipment, Sinker EDM and an assortment of machining centers to support the launch of the GENESIS Tech Center™, 18,000 sq. ft. dedicated to process development, prototyping, and short run production. Tegra Medical will continue to operate a modern 57,000 sq. ft. facility in Dartmouth, MA, an hours’ drive away, focused on specialty needles and cannulae.
